(Cefoperazone + Sulbactum)

Bacperazone is a combination of Cefoperazone with a β-lactamase inhibitor, Sulbactam.

Bacperazone has an extended spectrum of activity as compared to 1st & 2nd generation Cephalosporins. Bacperazone is a preferred drug in mixed infections with suspected Pseudomonas and also offers empiric therapy for life-threatening infections, difficult to treat infections and resistant infections.
Composition – Dry powder for Injection: Each vial contains:
  • Cefoperazone Sodium USP
  • Equivalent to Cefoperazone ....250 mg / 500 mg / 1000 mg
  • Sulbactam Sodium USP
  • Equivalent to Sulbactam ...250 mg / 500 mg / 1000 mg
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS & USAGE - BACPERAZONE is indicated for susceptible pathogens causing:
  • Respiratory tract infections
  • Peritonitis and other intra-abdominal infections, including hepato-biliary infections
  • Bacterial septicemia
  • Skin and skin structure infections
  • Pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis & other infections of female genital tract
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Meningitis
  • Bone and joint infections
  • Febrile neutropenia
  • Fever in compromised patients
  • Empiric therapy for life-threatening infections, difficult-to-treat infections & resistant infections
Presentation:
  • Bacperazone Injection is available in vials of 500 mg, 1000 mg and 2000 mg.
Shelf Life:
  • 3 years from the date of manufacture.
